Email: info@discountairconditioning.co.uk
These Terms apply to all quotations, online orders, installations, servicing and related works carried out by DiscountAirConditioning.
-
Quotations and Orders
All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Quotations are based on the information provided at the time and may be subject to change following a site survey or further inspection. Any additional works, materials or changes requested after acceptance may result in additional charges. Where an order is placed online, by email, by phone or through our website, a contract is formed when we accept the order or booking and confirm it.
-
Site Survey and Access
Prices are based on safe and reasonable access to the installation area. The customer must ensure clear access and a safe working environment. Additional costs may apply if access is restricted, unsafe or different from what was originally described. If works cannot proceed due to site conditions beyond our control, a call-out or aborted visit charge may apply.
-
Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for obtaining any required permissions, including landlord approval, planning permission, building control approval or management company consent where required. The customer must ensure the electrical supply is suitable unless electrical work is specifically included in the quotation. The customer must protect personal belongings and furniture near the work area and must tell us about any concealed pipes, cables, asbestos, hazardous materials or structural issues. We are not responsible for delays, additional costs or inability to complete works caused by undisclosed site conditions. We reserve the right to refuse or stop work where hazardous materials or unsafe conditions are found.
-
Payment
Payment may be taken online through our website, Shopify cart or checkout, or by any other agreed payment method. A deposit or full payment may be required to secure an installation date, order equipment or confirm a booking. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, any remaining balance is payable immediately on completion. Late payments may incur interest, recovery costs and any reasonable administrative charges permitted by law.
-
Equipment Orders
Where equipment has been ordered or allocated specifically for the customer’s installation, cancellation may result in charges to cover equipment costs, supplier charges, administrative costs or restocking fees where applicable. Custom, non-stock or special-order items may be non-returnable.
-
Installation Conditions
Installation dates are subject to equipment availability, access and weather conditions where applicable. We will use reasonable efforts to meet agreed dates but cannot guarantee specific installation or completion times. We may reschedule where circumstances arise beyond our control. Standard installation may involve drilling, wall penetrations, visible pipework, trunking and external fittings unless otherwise agreed in writing.
-
Electrical Supply
Unless specifically included in the quotation, the customer is responsible for providing a suitable electrical supply for the air conditioning system. Where electrical work is included in the quotation, this will typically consist of a 13A internal switched fused spur, an external rotary isolation switch, and up to 6 metres of cable run between the required points. Any additional electrical work required because of site conditions, longer cable runs, consumer unit alterations, upgrades or other electrical modifications will be chargeable. Where electrical work is to be carried out by others, the customer must ensure it is completed and available before the installation date.
-
Equipment and Warranties
Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s own terms. Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months unless stated otherwise in writing. Warranty does not cover misuse, accidental damage, tampering, lack of maintenance, lack of servicing, power supply issues, third-party electrical works, environmental factors or damage caused by factors outside our control.
-
Servicing and Maintenance
Regular servicing is recommended to maintain efficiency, performance and any applicable manufacturer warranty. Failure to maintain or service the equipment in line with manufacturer recommendations may invalidate manufacturer cover.
-
Cancellation Rights for Domestic Customers
If the contract is made online, by phone, by email or otherwise at a distance, domestic customers may have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. If the customer asks us to begin services, order equipment, reserve stock or book installation within that period, the customer agrees that cancellation rights may be reduced or lost once services have begun, equipment has been ordered, or goods made or selected to the customer’s requirements cannot reasonably be reused or resold. Any refund due will be reduced by costs reasonably incurred up to the date of cancellation where permitted by law.
-
Delays and Events Beyond Our Control
We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including supplier delays, weather conditions, transport issues, power failures, illness, emergencies or material shortages.
-
Damage and Making Good
Reasonable care will be taken during installation. Minor cosmetic disturbance, including drilling, trunking, wall penetrations and surface marking consistent with standard installation work, is not considered damage unless otherwise agreed in writing. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, hidden structural issues, concealed services, asbestos, or redecoration, finishing or specialist repairs unless included in the quotation.
-
Retention of Title
All goods, equipment and materials supplied remain the property of DiscountAirConditioning until paid for in full. We reserve the right to recover unpaid goods where lawful to do so.
-
Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our liability is limited to the value of the goods or services supplied under the relevant contract. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of earnings, loss of profit, business interruption or inconvenience arising from the works, delay or equipment failure caused by matters outside our control.
-
Aborted Visits and Call-Out Charges
A charge may apply where access is unavailable at the agreed time, the visit cannot proceed due to customer circumstances, the site is unsafe, required permissions are not in place, or the issue is unrelated to our installation or agreed scope of works.
-
Complaints
Any concern or complaint should be reported as soon as possible so that we can investigate and try to resolve the matter promptly.
-
Privacy
We handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Personal data provided through our website, quote wizard, checkout, email or phone may be used to provide quotations, arrange works, process orders, manage installations and maintain customer records.
-
General
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in force. We may update these Terms from time to time, but the version applying to the order or quotation accepted by the customer will govern that contract.
